Saved Ledger / Field notes
Connect your saved posts to an AI assistant
Saved Ledger exposes an authenticated MCP connection for supported assistants such as Codex and Claude. Once authorised, an assistant can work with your captured posts and categories through tools. Use the same account as your dashboard to reach the same private ledger.
What the connection enables
Instead of repeatedly pasting captured posts into a conversation, you can ask an authorised assistant to find relevant items, help organise categories, and prepare reply drafts. The available tools and actions depend on the deployed server and the client’s support for remote MCP and OAuth.
Connect from your account
- Sign in to Saved Ledger and open Account.
- Find “Connect your harness”. Copy the MCP URL shown there and follow the instructions for your assistant. If the section says the connection is disabled, it must be enabled by the server operator first.
- Complete the assistant’s sign-in flow. Check the client named on the consent page and sign in with the same account used for your ledger.
- Load the tools in your assistant. Ask it to check ledger statistics and open the dashboard link before starting changes.
- Give a bounded request, such as finding posts about a topic or proposing category assignments. Review proposed changes and drafts in the dashboard.
Example requests
- “Find saved posts about onboarding. Include the original links and distinguish quoted claims from your interpretation.”
- “Review this category and suggest which posts need a different category. Show the proposed changes first.”
- “Prepare reply drafts for these posts using my brief. Ask me for any missing personal examples.”
Understand the privacy boundary
Your ledger is account-scoped, but granting a client access allows that client to read the data returned by its tools and perform supported authorised actions. This is a deliberate sharing decision. The assistant provider’s retention and training settings are separate from Saved Ledger’s authentication.
Signing in does not automatically capture your social bookmarks. Import posts through a supported capture workflow before asking an assistant to explore them. Disconnecting a client also does not delete the posts stored in your ledger.
Connection questions
Why does my assistant show a different collection?
Check the configured server URL and signed-in account against your dashboard. Different servers or accounts can hold different collections.
Does every assistant support this connection?
No. The client needs compatible remote MCP and authentication support. Use the connection instructions shown in Account for a supported client.
Does this make my ledger public to search engines?
No. The MCP endpoint requires authentication. These public workflow pages contain editorial product information, not the contents of your ledger.
