Saved Ledger / Field notes

Build a research library from saved posts

Saved Ledger can serve as a private research library for captured social posts. Categories organise a topic, search helps recover a passage, and source links let you return to the original post. A saved claim is evidence of what someone wrote, not proof that the claim is true.

Use a topic to give your collection a purpose

Start with a question you need to answer: how teams evaluate a technical choice, what practitioners report about a hiring process, or which objections recur around a product idea. Save relevant posts and organise them around that question rather than collecting unrelated links.

A source-based research workflow

  1. Import captured posts into your account. Check that the passages you need appear in the captured text.
  2. Create a category for the research topic. Add keywords that distinguish it from neighbouring topics.
  3. Review the posts in that category. Correct assignments when a keyword matches an irrelevant context.
  4. Search the collection for specific terminology, and filter by source when you need to compare platforms.
  5. Open original links to verify context. Record your conclusions in your own document, keeping source links beside the claims they support.

Example: prepare an architecture discussion

Illustrative workflow: collect posts discussing event-driven systems. Separate implementation experience from promotional claims while reviewing them. Compare the conditions each author describes before deciding whether a lesson applies to your system. Saved Ledger helps retrieve the material; evaluating the evidence remains your job.

Use an assistant with explicit boundaries

An authorised MCP client can help explore the collection. Ask it to cite original links and distinguish a post’s claims from its own inference. Check generated summaries against the captured text before using them in a decision or publishing them.

Research limits

Social posts are a selective sample, not a representative survey. Captures may omit surrounding replies, edits, or media. A source can change or disappear after capture. Follow important claims to primary evidence rather than treating the collection as an independently verified dataset.

Questions about research

Does Saved Ledger verify claims automatically?

No. It stores and organises captured material. Check accuracy, date, and relevance at the source.

Can I publish a category as a public research page?

These use-case pages do not publish ledger categories. Your collection stays behind sign-in; prepare and review any public document separately.

Is this a full-web research crawler?

No. This workflow concerns the posts you capture and import, not exhaustive crawling of the web.
